What is the Society all about?

As an international catholic organization, SSVP is a member of the Conference of International Catholic Organizations, and as an NGO it has consultative status with UNESCO.

An international Catholic Lay Organization founded in Paris, France on April 23,1833 by a group of young students and an elder person who joined together to create the First Conference in response to the cry of the poor.

The association takes part in the Church's charitable work, emphasizing a personal relationship when serving the neediest people. It encourages the laity's sense of responsibility, encouraging cooperation between all the members of the ecclesial community.

 

SSVP In the Philippines

 

        Established by the Jesuits on December 20,1860.

        Turned over to the Vincentian Fathers in 1933

  •  A Christian community of Christ-bearers of the poor whose mission is to help alleviate the miserable situation of the less fortunate through its developmental formation program.

 

THE COMMUNITY

 
The Community is composed of volunteers
 
Fe , Lorna, Vilma, Leny, Loring, Myrna, Joy, Abel, Ging-ging, Lynette, Imelda and Vi -
 
who seek under the guidance and direction of Msgr. Tex Legitimas, SSJV, PC, VG, with the inspiration of Vincentain Spirituality, and trying to follow the flight of Blessed Frederick Ozanam, to find earthly paradise like the heavenly on in charity by bringing consolation from the heart of our lord to the sufferings of the poor.
